Not every child with ADHD looks the way people expect. Some are quiet. Some work incredibly hard just to keep up. Some come home and fall apart.
If you've been watching your child and quietly wondering… this is the place to start finding out.
👉 Your child is bright, but school feels like a daily battle they can never quite win
👉 They can focus for hours on the things they love, and not at all on anything else
👉 Teachers say they're "easily distracted" or "not reaching their potential"
👉 They come home exhausted… and then the meltdown happens
👉 You've wondered whether this is ADHD, but the waiting list for an answer feels impossible
👉 You've been told they're "fine" but something in you knows that's not the full picture
Our assessments are thorough, warm, and explained every step of the way. You'll leave with a clear outcome, and you'll know more than you do now.
01 - Discovery Call
We start with a conversation. No forms, no pressure. Just a chance to talk through what you've been noticing. This is free, with no obligation.
02- Parent & School Information
Before we meet your child, we gather a detailed picture, from you, and from school. ADHD shows up differently in different environments.
03- The Assessment Session
A thorough, structured conversation with your child (and with you). Calm, careful, and completely age-appropriate. Your child won't feel like they're being tested.
04- Your Report & Outcome
A full written report with the outcome, clinical reasoning, and clear recommendations, all in plain language.
👉 Difficulty staying on task at school, even when they want to
👉 Impulsive behaviour, acting before they think
👉 Struggling to wait their turn, or always seeming "on the go"
👉 Forgetting things constantly, losing belongings
👉 Big emotional reactions that feel disproportionate
👉 Very dreamy and hard to reach… or very intense and busy
👉 Leaving everything to the last minute, every time
👉 Starting things and never finishing them
👉 Chronic disorganisation that no planner has ever fixed
👉 Struggling socially, saying the wrong thing, feeling different
👉 Anxiety that might actually be undiagnosed ADHD underneath
👉 Incredibly capable, but not performing the way anyone expects
I'm Aimee, founder of CoreADHD, ADHD Assessment Nurse Specialist and Psychotherapist. I've spent too many years on the NHS front line to be honest about (it would age me terribly 🫣), working with children, young people, and families navigating exactly what you're navigating now.
I set up CoreADHD because the waiting lists are too long, the answers take too long, and families deserve better than that. Not a hurried appointment. Not a form filled in and posted off. A proper, thorough, human assessment, with someone who understands both the clinical picture and what it's like to actually live with this.
I personally know what it is to wonder whether something is wrong, and to not quite have the words for it yet.
"We finally have answers. For the first time in years, my daughter understands why school has always felt so hard. That's worth everything." -Lauren. F parent of a 13-year-old.
"Aimee made my son feel completely at ease. At the end he said it wasn't scary at all. We came away with a report that finally made sense of seven years of confusion."- Karli B. parent of a 9-year-old

"We'd been fobbed off by the school so many times. Aimee listened properly and actually believed what my son was saying and feeling. The whole process felt thorough and kind, not like a tick-box exercise. We now have what we need for my son to feel hopeful that college will be so much better than school" -Louise D, parent of a 15-year-old
If you've been sitting with a quiet worry about your child for a while… please don't leave it sitting there any longer than it needs to.
A discovery call costs you nothing. It's just a conversation. You can ask anything, and there's no obligation to go any further if it doesn't feel right.
But if you're ready to find out, we're here.
Q1:
My child has already been seen by the GP and told there's nothing wrong. Should I still come?
Yes, if you're still concerned. GPs are generalists, they're not trained to assess for ADHD specifically, and a brief appointment is rarely long enough to see the full picture. If your instinct is telling you something isn't adding up, that instinct is worth listening to.
Q2:
My child is doing okay at school. Can they still have ADHD?
Absolutely. A lot of children with ADHD work so hard to appear "fine" that nobody notices the effort it's costing them. Girls in particular tend to mask very effectively, seeming quiet and compliant at school, then falling apart at home. Performing at school does not rule out ADHD.
Q3:
How long does an assessment take?
The process typically takes 2 weeks from start to finish gathering information beforehand, the assessment session, and preparing your written report. We'll give you a clearer timeline once we've spoken.
Q4:
Will my child need to do a lot of tests?
No. The assessment uses structured conversations and validated questionnaires — not the kind of tests that feel like exams. Your child won't be put on the spot. Most children find it much easier than they expected.
Q5:
What happens if the assessment says it isn't ADHD?
You'll still leave with answers. If ADHD isn't the right picture, we'll tell you clearly what we did find and where to go next. A negative result is never the end of the road, it's information that helps you find the right support.
